La vie est d'ailleurs.
現實生活如此折磨，於是我們把憧憬放在過去，編織一個自己未曾經歷卻印象深刻的時空。然而當他方(ailleurs)變成此方時，憧憬歷歷在目，幻想變成現實時，似乎也開始讓人難以忍受。
在回首歷史後，電影中的主人翁最後回歸現實，把黃金年代藏在心裡。但是幻想也讓他重新審視自己現況。最後主角選擇居住在巴黎，好讓這個原本只是他方的都市，逐一實踐成為自己未來的一部分。
懷舊情節，是一種自我療傷的心理防衛機制。因為這樣，我喜歡閱讀、喜歡看電影。別人的故事讓我穿越了時空，製造一種專屬於局外人的幸福多巴胺(Dopamine)。
